OrphanRDclearfelling

Pictures above and below were taken in the area next to Orphan Rd. Tokai, after one of the wettest winters. This area had been clear-felled 2 years ago. So far, only weed is growing there. Expect townhouses to "grow" rather sooner than later. OrpanRdweed

After some hot summers this clear-felled area will rapidly lose all the moisture which the tree roots had captured like a sponge and not even the beautifully flowering weeds will grow there.

Water...(large pine trees catching the swirling mist) Pictures

Pictures 1

Interesting pics after the fire 2006 (NO foreigner (alien) trees caught fire!!! Its also interesting to see the fire hazard aspect of the stone pine. The cape fires ravaged everything but the stone pine as indicated in the pics. Big question mark. They seem to have the public image that they were some kind of highly inflammable petrol bombs waiting for a flame to explode....see the pics for yourself ...make up your own mind on this one!

Picture of table mountain after the fire.
