Pine trees removed city bowl park More Pine trees removed off pipe track camps bay (Walkers extremely angry...nobody knew a thing....These trees must have been around 40 years old! .....here today gone tomorrow!) These walks are now almost devoid of all shade spots and the incessant heat can make it unbearable (this walk simply cannot be done now in summer hot days).

Could foreigner trees or highly aggressive rooting trees like
Ficus have been used to stabilize Chapman's Peak instead of pouring
cement all over it and turning it into an EPPING INDUSTRIA? Massive insult was
added to the "injury" and defacing of one of our most beautiful cape roads by
the installing of a TOLL GATE there too? I used to visit Chapman's peak very
often & now I will do my utmost not to support it! The Toll gate is revolting
for everything that it stands for. The vulgarizing of one of our most pristine roads and the privatizing of
one of our most natural and beautiful ocean views in the Cape! (Maybe there is space
for a golf course estate up on the hill somewhere there to??)
Picnic in old Silvermine lake forest! Beautiful shady and cool .... The old forest on lake where people used to Braai, picnic and enjoy.
Silvermine today,- entire forest removed on all banks...with it went the picnics, family braais, shade and a legendary cultural mixing pot where people from many different communities mixed and got to know each other in what couldn't have been a better environment for people t enjoy swimming and a sunning & a south Easter proof Braai area.
Now you need the gratuitous wildcard from sanparks to go mountain biking and take your buddies with (dogs)...They give you what was given already...

More absolutely massive old stone pine, wider than a person killed. Pipe Track Camps Bay glen forest,- The only remaining in Camps Bay and now developers want it to for a spa 5 star hotel! The cool shady ambience made by foreigner trees is beautiful and intensely desired!. ...A unanimous vote against them by CBay rate payers and residents association and seems all quiet for now!

Massive Oak killed in Orange Kloof where you are not even allowed in unless you have a permit,- There is a perfect road through and it could very easily accommodate Mountain bikers and walkers. See the |Trees on Lions Head...Water guzzlers ? What kind of water is flowing between the rocks ? Not much water is literally collected off mist from branches.

JAM PACKED parking lot Constantia nek forest walkers.... when these shady areas are gone ..do you think the indigenous forests will be able to accommodate the masses ? Consider the ground cover difference between indigenous forest and a pine plantation...now imagine tons of feet passing through.....Hmmmmm maybe...just maybe...the plantations are actually protecting the indigenous... once they are gone ...there is no TURNING BACK!
